How to boot without a floppy drive.

Hey guys

i still have a floppy drive in my computer, and i want to remove it to make space for another fan in front, and have a few questions

1. is the floppy drive necessary (i know its stupid, but just to ease my mind)

2. the reason why I ask is that is cause i tried removing my Floppy drive, and my computer doesnt boot up.

I think it might be the boot sequence, but do you think there might be any other issues?

I have Windows XP

thanks guys.

No reason not to remove it these days, as you noted just alter the bootup sequence in the BIOS.

i use that 3-1/2 slot for a card reader. it accommodates about 20 different types. the slot is good for something.
