I have got at computer from fujitsu siemens. I wanna format my computer, and install the OS, again. I get the message that it can't find my hard disk. I try to change the detection in the BIOS but with no luck. It isn't there at all. Can you help me to make me able to install my OS anyway?

What OS are you trying to install? Do you have an Installation CD or are you using some sort of factory Recovery Partition?

you need the SATA drivers most likely. im guessing its a laptop without a floppy drive that you are trying to instlal windows XP on. you need to slipstream the drivers onto a windows CD. you can use n-lite to do this, i suggest you read up on it before trying it.

as already said the most likely cause is that you need to give windows the sata drivers, you normally get these on a floppy disk. When installing windows one of the early blue screens that pops up, you have to press f6 on this screen

then it will ask for you driver floppy disk

or if you dont have a floopy disk drive then read this

also, if you dont have the sata drivers you may need to go to the hdd manufacturers web site.
If you can get to a working computer,,try plugging the HD up and formatting and then install OS

that is not the best option given the hardward setup will wrong on the new platform
