I have a computer a friend disconnected cables and put a cd burner into
the computer but did not connect the cables can anyone send me a link
that would show how to reconnect the cables to the floppy drive hard drive
and cd rom and the cd burner none of the cables are connected i checked
with a store and they want to charge me $50 dollars to do it for me any
help would be appreciated
i do not know how to connect the cables and i don't want to make a mistake

connecting cables

the pictures of the cables are great but does not really tell me anything how many cables do i need the cables are connected to the mother board mine have one that has a grey end that would connect to something and the other one has a black end that would connect to something
this is what my computer has in it
cd burner
cd rom
floppy drive
hard drive
what cable goes to what of the cables i told you the colors would be helpful

they are easy to connect most have a notch that wont let you plug them in wrong, on the floppy the cable with the twist in the cable goes to your
a:\ drive ( your floppy ).
the sides of the cable with the red tracer goes to pin 1 on the motherboard and on the drives. the drives will have the pins marked but you may have to take them out to see it. most of the time it is the pin closest to the power connector
the motherboard also has the pins marked.
but like i said its kinda noob prof you can only plug the cables in to the right
connector.

first connect both cd drive to one cable and plug it to the secondary connector on your motherboard
next plag the floppy in to its cable and to the motherboard
next plug the HDD to the other cable and to the primary connector on the motherboard and that should do it.

start off by just pluging in the floppy and the HDD and boot the system
if it boot shut it down and plug in one cd rom and boot and then do the same for the last cd rom. if at any time the system wont boot the you know you have done something wrong and that item needs to be changed.

If the cable doesnt fit, then it shouldnt go there :)

Thats how it works from my experince, its no colour coding any more its just 'lets make that one fit there and only there' :)
