How to connect to two different networks simultaneously?

I have a laptop connected to the internet, and everything works fine. I also have a drone that requires a device to control it. the old android phone that i used to control it died (and the phone i use is from the 1400's). I am getting some programs on my laptop so that i can control it with my computer, but it will require that i connect to the drone wi-fi rather than my internet, and i'm trying to find a way around that. Is there any way to connect to both my home router and my drone simultaneously and specify only certain programs to run off of the drone (my drone control application, and not google chrome)?

If possible, please reply in layman's terms. I am mostly uninitiated into the world of computers. Also, thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

Sent from my drone using encrypted SSH, L2TP, P25, Astro, Provoice-ESK, Tetra, VSLEP, DECT 6.0, WPA2-PSK with a dash of Tapatalk

So you watch YouTube videos and operate your drone at the same time? Impressive. LOL

I don't understand why you can't just use the built in WLAN card to control your drone. Why do you need Internet access and WIFI to control the drone?

He may not want to have to change networks every time he wants to use it, or wants to stream video live for instance.

Well would you look at that! They aren't the PCI that I grew up with, which is probably a good thing the original PCI bus was pretty slow.
