How to disconect the wireless adaptor in my laptop?

Hello there,

I've just got my Internet package with the wireless router to connect to Internet. I'm trying to install wireless Internet on my computer but I am bumping into difficulties.

When I play the septup CD, I have to check 3 things in order to continue with the installation. The third point is to "turn off the wireless adaptor in my laptop". They also write how to turn it off with Windows Vista:

Go to start - to "connect to" - show all connections - right click wireless network - disable

In the window "Connect to a network", there's only one possible connection: "Broadband connection PPPoE Connection". I've just moved house. Before I had Internet through a cable. However, there's no wireless connection. I even clicked on the right button up above my keyboard in order to switch the HP Wireless Assistant off. It's now orange. But it doesn't help.

My Router is "D-Link" - "DIR-615". I use Window Vista. I live in Berlin using an American Laptop.

I'd be really thankful for your help.
Thanks,
Olives

I can't understand why you would have to disable the wireless on the laptop to establish a wireless connection. You can disable the wireless via device manager as well. Right click on the wireless device under network adapters and click on disable.
