How to find my primary and secondary DNS?

go to
Start -->settings-->control panel-->network connections

right click on network connections---> go to properties-->select internet protocol (TCP/IP)---> and then select properties.

This only works if you are using static IPs. If you are using DHCP it just shows blank.

So sad. How then? You guys teach me too

you can actually get your primary and secondary DNS.
from your taskbar right-click the LAN (icon), go to "status", then go to "support" tab,
then go to "details" it will show more info

Oh well I only see my defualt IP ( router IP 192.........), subnet mask and default gateway which is the same as router IP.
On ipconfig I see my current IP (78.............).
So I'm a bit confused because at any time I can see all my IP-s and all...I have a dynamic IP

That is because your router is acting as both DHCP/DNS server for your network. If you telnet into your router it will display your ISP settings. Remember routers run NAT (most of them) and just act like a gateway device from your network to the ISP's network.

Niceee...I will try to telnet myself from my friend's PC...
But I have to open my 23 port, do I?

not if its on your local network, port 23 is for telnet service, but you can just telnet using a web browser because the interface is through a web based system.

Some routers also support ssh, would uses port 22, and that would have to be open on your local firewall to get out to it.

what if your lan icon isnt there?

kk done that, it shows that the DNS 1 is the same as my default gateway and there is no dns 2. So i dont reckon this would work when setting the wireless on ps3
