How to free memory

Hi. I hope I have posted in an ok spot here. I am a relatively novice laptop owner/operator. Though I do ok with keeping it running fairly smoothly with the standard antivirus/antispyware stuff, I feel there is more I could do to free up space. I keep things organized in files, compact files and throw stuff away that I don't need anymore. I keep internet files emptied, empty the cookie files and clean the history regularly. The question I have is this though...what about the stuff that sits in my temporary files? I know temporary internet stuff is safe to dump if I don't want it junking up the system, but when I did a search and opened a file called "Temp", there was some junk in there, some images, uninstallers, bundle programs...are these things I have to keep or can they be deleted as well as they would appear somewhere else on my harddrive? I don't delete things without first educating myself. Any advice is greatly appreciated. ;)

well for temporary internet files, there is an option that you can set the size of files you can keep, so windows will dump the older ones to keep the new ones, but the cokkies, well you can keep them, they are no harm.

Use programs like System Mechanics 5.5 pro to clean up junk files and optimize your hole system.

Finally someone else that has actually heard of SM it's about time :D I really suggest it. It helps my computer speed up I use it every other day

well i onse installed system mechanic, it had almost everything to inhence performance but after a while i stoped using it since i started to prefer to have my own choice of AV, cleaning utility....

One of the three. Personally I would use SM but to each his own
Yes but System Mechanic is, by nature, inferior :P Now if you couple DeepFreeze+Ghost(as a just in case all hell breaks loose)... that's in-friggen-pressive :) ..... but i digress...

DeepFreeze
