How to get Avast to automatically delete

How do I make Avast! automatically delete a virus during a scan?

Cause usually I have to click delete, and I am going out soon, and want to delete anything that may appear.

Thanks.

As far as I am aware, the free version does not have an auto-delete function. When it finds something it says is a virus, everything stops in its tracks, waiting for user input. Auto-delete could be dangerous, because every so often what Avast thinks is a virus really is not. I've had a few warnings that there were viruses in software that has always worked perfectly fine. It's Avast crying "Wolf!".
What I do is start a full system scan when I know I'm going to be sitting at the PC for a couple of hours so that I can deal with anything that pops up.

I ran Acast here for awhile and soon dumped it to go back to AVG. Many trojans and other malwares have been flagged by AVG 7.5 and earlier releases that others would miss like a trojan downloader copied to the root of the hard drive. Most programs regardless see a virus vault or more like an archive where a virus file is compressed. Those you simply have to delete manually.

Other things can slide right past your antivirus program and remain hidden until you sweep the drive yourself with a full scan. The best advice is to ready to use more then any one program. Being familiar with different special removers sometimes needed helps too.

Ovenmaster's right, auto delete would be alittle dangerous. I've had Avast target many safe files, many were mods of mine.

So I switched to Antivir. :)

I'm using Avira antivir aswell and I gotta give it a thumbs up, Avast was doing the same with me targeting files which weren't actually viruses but Avira doesn't seem as bad.

The one free program that tops them all besides going with a retail product from Trend Micro that combines adware/spyware removers with the antivirus program they offer still boils down to Grisoft's AVG. The latest build is available at http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0

It never goes after safe files and often will point out a variety of trojans simply indicating the location if detected. With AVG disabled from starting it sprang to life on one occasion when a new site copied a trojan downloader to the root of the drive. A quick right click into the recycle bin took care of that fast. Many simply show a lot of false positives to get you to buy the retail product.
