im wondering (i have vista 32 bit) if there is a way i can pull up some of the errors windows is seeing

it throws a code for BSOD but i cant get the code before it shuts down

its getting old having a beefy computer and getting random BSOD's when i stress it out (usually video stress, but lately its just random....)

ive ran cpu stress tests and it runs my quad core at 100% for like..an hour...no problems

ill open two WoW windows and crash in an hour, or in 50 seconds...completely random

any help finding these errors (if i can find them) is appreciated

run memtest, download here. Run it for about 8 hours or so, so overnight, and if it comes up with any error messages then you have corrupt RAM.

run disk check that comes from windows. Go to start>Computer. right click your main drive, hit properties. Click tools and then error checking. Tick both boxes, restart, let it run.

To find the BSOD you can get the eroor message at reboot, when it BSODs it will restart saying windows has recovered from an unexpected error, click the more information and copy and paste it in here

Also, 1 hour isn't long enough to stress test you CPU. It should be done for as long as possible. Say about 8 hrs, or just leave it overnight. Prime95 is a good program for that.
If your CPU or memory is unstably overclocked its probably the reason your getting BSOD, which is why its important to stress test for a long period of time.

i just did this, it was taking a while on step 5, so i went out, when i got back it was at my desktop like it had completed checking, is there any way to see if it uncovered a problem? im going to run the memtest tonight

but i dont think its my OC...

three reasons:

i put it back to stock and it still did it

i upped my voltages with stock numbers and still got freezes

i overclocked my brothers computer (which is almost identical to my system minus ram) and he has absolutely no problems (used the same stress test methods with his as i did with mine)

it may be some type of corrupt video, i know occasionaly it will freeze up then drop back out and say my video drivers stopped working but windows recovered,

another factor here is i can NOT update my motherboards bios...the program that came with my board (striker 2 formula) does not work =\ so i have the bios that came with the board
