how to get my hp (presario) working again

hello all I am new to this forum but am member to many others. I need help getting my hard drive for my presario(hp) to work again I piggy backed it to an older puiter and reformated it(oops big mistake) lol now I need to know how to get my presario to reginise the hard dirve anyone out there a hp rep and can give me the code to allow thie (hp) puiter to allow this hard drive to work again HP NEVER AGAIN GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

ok this presario is a sr1023wm s/n mxk41704y1 as I have said I piggy back it and wiped it clean now when I try and reboot I get error(code purple) all I need is for someone to know the code the bypasses the hold HP puts on there puiters to make it hard to add things thatarent hp anyone got that code? or any ides on how to get it to reboot all I want to do is add windows xp to the hard drive and junk it up from there lol I do not want that parteinsion on the hard drive all tho i do see it still has like 65.6 mb used.(how do I clear that outa there?) or how can I take the hard drive from this old puiter and instal it in the hp to get it up and running? HELP!!!!!!!

I'm sorry Mark, but I don't really get what's going on.

If it were me I would have hooked the drive up to your XP desktop and Boot & Nuked (DBAN) it, then partition and format. After that you should be able to put it back in the laptop and install the OS.

Hello Mark.

Unfortunately because of the reformat (or "piggyback wipe") that means that everything stored on the HDD is gone. You will need to get the Compaq O/S disk that was included with your purchase to get an O/S on. If you did not recieve an CD-Disk, then your HDD had an partition on there for reformats or clean installs. If you also reformatted or deleted that partition, your all out of luck.
 
how to get my presario working again

first off thanks for the replys. ok to put this simpler, it all started when my mouse and keyboard stoped working and I couldnt get the puiter to come up at all so I took the hard drive from my presario and piggy back it to an older off brand puiter and yes I wiped it claen includeing the partesion put it back into the presario and tryed to refomate it with a windows xp cd. it started but its sayed the hard drive is bad so I am on the hunt for a new hard drive, but let me ask anyone this? why can I get this hard drive that I am useing on this older puiter to work on the preario? that is why I was wounder if maybe there was an hp teck out there that couod give me the code to by pass the hold hp puts on there puiters. I hooked up a dvd player to this presario and I got a code purple took the dvd drive out rehooked up the cd that came with it and presto magic so I had to make the dvd a slave not a master thanks to hp's tricker and all tecks I talk to at a shop says it takes a teck to work around it so that is why i am here but I do beleive I am just going to get a new and bigger hard drive thanks all
