Can someone point me in the right direction, I have never booted an os before. I am having fits with windows 7. There is a file I want to delete that is in the program folder on the c drive. The program will not uninstall, it says there was an error during unistallation. So I want to delete the entire folder, but it keeps saying I must have administrator privliges to delete it. I have done the trick of going into c drive properties, then to security etc. And changing the rule to full control. But It still will not let me delete this file. So I am wanting to get rid of windows 7, I have a windows xp disk and want to load it up. What would be the first step in doing this?

Just install XP on it, you don't need to "uninstall" Windows. During installation, when it asks you where you want to install XP, it'll give you the option to format the drive.

to uninstall a program you must go to control panel and click uninstall programs. chose the program you want uninstalled and hit the uninstall button. a windows will pop up asking whether you want to give this programs privilege to uninstall, this is called i think UAC. click yes and follow instruction. If that does not work go to the program file and find the uninst.exe or something like that, right click, properties, compatability and click on the administrator rights. then click apply and hit the uninst.exe, a UAC windows will pop up click yes and follow instruction.
if all above fails, then just leave it. turn off whatever the processes that this program is using and forget about, in the end of all things you should really just consider reinstall windows 7, before you even think about XP. Windows 7 is about 1000 times better than XP in almost every single way. have you had any other problems with it other than this!!!!
