How to get windows to unblock non digitally signed files!?

Hi peeps,

Just put my new system together and have it working fine, installed windows with no probs and all that, but now Im in windows, im running SP2 (not activated yet and no windows updates) I cannot download any non digitally signed file from the internet, that includes, msn, nvidia drivers, firefox.
Anyone had this problem before, I've tryed google'ing and looked around I.E's options plus disabled windows firewall and looked around windows security center but can't find anything.
Any suggestions are welcome as this is really bugging me

i dont think that not having activated would make a difference

Sorted it out now, Had nVidia Firewall running, was mucking around with windows, I can now recieve Microsoft Updates, have activated windows and can hopefully download files, just waiting for some to come through now!
