How to gte passed the LOCKS in Cabelas Hunt Game

The xbox game controller arrived yesterday for the used xbox 360 I was given a few weeks ago.

I picked up the Cabelas Dangerous Hunts 2011 game and it seems to work, but since I don't have any knowledge of xbox and I wanted to get this one going for my 6 years old nephew, I have a few questions.

In the Galleries section, under Classic the game has only three out of nine chapters to chose from, the others have a picture of a Lock on 4-9.

Did I buy a defective game?

How do I get passed what I thick is the Chapter lock?

Again, I'm 66 years old and don't play computer or xbox games, this xbox is for my nephew whan he comes to visit. I've never seen an xbox before this one.

It's got progressive gameplay. You need to beat the first few hunting levels in order to unlock the higher level ones.
 
Thanks, I didn't know about how it worked.

the last game I was involved with was a flight game almost 30 years ago. It was call F19 and F17A.

I bought it for my two nephews who were about 6 during that time. Both nephews couldn't get enough play time in.

If you didn't get shot down by the enemy you could return to base, re-arm and take off again.

This xbox 360 I was given is for their kids, each has a boy about six now.
