How to hide my IP address???

I post on alot of internet forums and I'd like to know if there's any software available to conceal my IP address from the admin'?

Im not sure but that could be illegal, your IP address is publicly available to everyone. Hiding it is probably an offence.

Normally i'd say "WTF are you smoking?!!" .... but then considering some of the stupid laws you Americans allow your lawmakers to pass (i.e., Inducement Act, DMCA, Patriot etc), that might actually be an offence now
 
Well perhaps not an offence but im sure authorities wouldnt like it. It is how they can identify you, if your hiding it then your obviously hiding someting else.....
 
I'd still think you could pull a "hey I have my rights to privacy" to cover yourself...of course that's assuming your not doing anything illegal or disruptive (which a ban in the first place would indicate...hmmm)
 
I don't mod this forum, but I suggest we stop posting here. This is a rather questionable topic(espcially if he said he got banned!)
 
just wait a year or two for your isp to change your ip again LOL

mines changed recently my isp gives dynamic ips but they're pretty static to me

only changed like 3 times in the last 5 years.
 
There are legitimate reasons for hiding your identity. Ever hear of stalkers? I write political satire for publication and often displease powerful groups. I have found myself victum of harassment as a result. Many writers use pseudonyms.

I got banned from this forum www.ickedownload.com/Forum

Basically the reason I got banned is because I'm so searingly politically incorrect even though I never said anything specifically racist and have no problem with people of other colour.

I was one of the most frequent posters there and it caused a huge uproar when I was banned.

Anyway, I managed to join the forum again using the same IP so I don't know if the webmaster has his head up his arse!?!?

Anyway I would love to learn how to use a proxy server. Can anyone teach me exactly how it's done.

once you have obtained a proxy server address and port number from say www.publicproxyservers.com or what ever, For internet explorer (Tools \ internet options \ connections tab \ if you'r using a dial up connection select your desired connection and then click settings if your using A Local Area Network (LAN) then click LAN settings and enter the proxy address and port number that you have obtained and it's all completely FREE!

normally, when a member gets banned, it only the userid of the member, or at most the email address used for registering which is blocked.
It is rare for an Ip address to be blocked straight away.
i used to be the admin of a wrestling forums, and whenever i wanted to ban someone, i would ban the userid first, you can always make out when the person returns nder a new id, but if he behaves, then bygones are forgotten.
