How to install unbootable Windows XP

I've got new problem. So this is how it goes:

A few days ago my original Windows XP CD cracked. I thought "O.K i'll order new later"... This "later" lasted for about a week... And my system crashed today, and i'll have to install new Windows. Without an original CD i asked my friend for a pirate copy of windows. Computer work is crucial for my job - so i haven't got any other way. O.K - now - i'm writing this from my friends PC, and i want to ask:

CD is unbootable, but i have access to my Windows - and how do install it, so i will not have two operating systems - but older will be wiped out, and only new will stay?

Sorry for any bugs.
Thanks for any replys :)

Michael

I don't think anyone on this forum will help you with the use of a pirated copy of any software, particulary Windows OS.

Kent.

Yeah, We can't help you talk about pirated software, Read the Forum Rules before posting.

Can't you read? I WILL buy original Windows - but i NEED ANY WINDOWS now... Jesus...

Yeah, But you're still using a copied version and asking us for help, which we can't do. Plus, acting like that isn't going to get you much help!

Then buy one at a store or at Best Buy... we can't help you here. If your that desperate get Windows 98 from Ebay and get next day shipping. You can always use your friends computer while you wait.

And i think - You're all rightous and NEVER used pirated stuff? I've got original Windows XP already with my sister's help... But honestly... Screw you... "Rightous and legal" people... Yup...

My God - Somebody came to help. Thanks man. As You see (to all "Bright and Rightous") - If You want - You can help. I've got my original Windows copy already - but i'll ask another question then - If in future something like this happens, and i'll install for example "Linux" - will i be able to copy files from Linux to Windows and work on them? I mean especially pictures and text files.

One more time - thank You.

No, because you'll need to install windows , and in order to do that you'll have to reformat the drive unless : you have norton ghost , external HDD, backupped your files to a CD or DVD, have a RAID driver

What if he used one of the distros that will fully boot from Disk w/o installing itself on your computer. Could you then use it to acess files from the HDD? I know there is a way to do it, just dont know how.

Thanks
