Well, your pushing it on the 12V rail side with Amps. The minimum is a 500W with 36/38 amps on the 12V rail. Yours only has 35 amps total on the 12V rail.

well the psu I have says 38amps on the sticker. Is that pushing it still?

It has a 18 and 20 amp max rails but that doesnt mean it has a total of 38 amps. Thats just the max any one rail can pull before shutting down the supply. It has 420W total on the 12V rail which comes in around 35 amps total.

thanks. that is definitely good to know. One of the best things besides the power of this psu is that is very quiet which is a plus.
