I'm not sure if this is in the right place. If not, sorry.

Since I won't be able to get a Windows XP PRO disc until the 1st... I was wondering how to make a bootable Linux disc just to play arround with until I get an XP CD...

(I'll be using Nero for burning it)

anyone wanna help a noob out?

the steps:
1. find an iso, like damnsmall or knoppix
2. download it
3. burn it with nero
4. restart with it in the cd drive, and it should boot from there.

To add to #4 of what palmmann was saying, make sure you CD ROM is first boot priority. Do this through the bios or by going to the boot menu.
