How to make a new drive a data drive?

Ive bought a samsung hdd 1tb and 2tb
when i plug it in the computer can detect it on bios but it doesnt appear on windows. how can i make it a data drive?
 
You must partition and format it before windows will see the drive. You must use disk management to do this. Right click on "my computer" and click on manage, then click on disk management on the left. Find the drives and right click and click on format.
 
i made some mistakes by trying to format it using the installation disk
now the new hdd is partition at
e: system reserved
g: local disk
how can i make it into 1 partition?

and i tried shrink volume then i delete volume now the 1tb hdd is gone
how can i get it back?

whatat is thee Data drive on hdd
Convert to MBR? Convert to GPT? Convert to dynamic?

According to your disk management screen you have a total of 3 drives.

drive 0 is 500GB
Drive 1 is 1tb
drive 2 is 1tb

Drive 2 is the only one that hasn't been formatted yet. Right click on drive down below and click on format.
 
Do you have the drive setup in the raid utility? Thats the only thing i can think of.

I bought 1 samsung 1tb and 2tb.. The 1tb i did something wrong like i shrink the volume and then deleted the volume. now on the disk management it shows on the lower portion unallocated but it doesnt show on the first portion. and when i right click it theres no format option.. I tried the 2tb but its the same as the 1tb that i mess up with..
 
how can i get this disk 1 system reserved and just make it something like disk 0. i will make it as a data file

I think thats for recovery when you want some files to recover..
my problem is that i want to format it into a data drive. but there is a system reserved partition on the drive how can i just make it into a data drive and i want to get red of the system reserved
 
How can i make my drive which was partition into 2
e: system reserved
G: healthy primary partition

into just one partition. something like this of disc 1
