The best thing you can do to keep your pc at it`s best is maintain it.

Run cleaners regularly but also if you are confident enough enter the c drive and into the programs folder as there can be empty folders in there from programs you have previously uninstalled.

keep an eye on the state of your defragmentation, most defraggers will analyze your disks and tell you the % of defragmentation.

Also in your windows start search box, type msconfig and check your start up list and minimize it as much as possible, all i have in mine is anti-virus.

First you should remove spyware and protect your PC from viruses. Spyware can collect all your personal information without you even knowing about it. It doesn’t ask you for permission. It just takes all your info. Also, it can hurt your PC performance. So, you need to get an anti-virus program that will scan all the viruses at your PC and remove them if needed.

Second, you should check your disk-space. If you have too much info on it, you have to remove all the necessary things. There is a tool called Disk Cleanup, which will help you free some space on your hard disk. It will identify all the files that you can safetly remove and then ask you do you want to delete.

Thirdly, you should learn about Ready Boost. If you are using Win 7, you can use this tool to speed up your PC a little bit.
