How To Manage Being A Moderator

On another forum the admins just promoted me and a few other members to a moderator tonight. Wanted some help from moderators on here on how to be a moderator. There are now a lot more settings on my account. Can't maintain the site though like an admin can.

What type of forum is it? That atmosphere there could be totally different then here at CF

.It's not that hard. In a nutshell....

follows/enforces rules, is helpful etc. A very big factor here is to demonstrate open-mindedness.

You have to be fair to everyone. If someone doesn't follow the rules and you issue a warning/infraction to them but you have a friend on there that does the same thing you have to give your friend the warning/infraction as well.

It is a radio station forum that I DJ on where they did away with moderators over a year ago. I suggested a few months ago that they'd bring moderators back but members were happy with only administrators leading the forum and chat box they have on there. Yesterday though 31st March 2012 they decided they would bring mods back as mute mods that have the power to mute people from shoutbox. They chose 5 members to be mute mods and I was one of them.

They have members names in these different colours for the ranks on there



1 - Black - New Member
2 - Green - Member
3 - Purple - DJ
4 - Red - Moderator
5 - Dark Red - Administrator

They also have Gold for Donater man and Pink for Donater women and Megata Pink as a Top Donater.
