How to protect your PC (no internet)?

1. If you don't have an internet connection, how will you protect your pc from viruses? What will you do? Is there a way to get UPDATES using flash disk from another pc(connected)?

2. I heard about "DEEP FREEZE" is there another freeware like deep freeze that can EASILY disable? Deep freeze does not allow anything to be installed and you can't save files in the PC. Is there a software like this that can SAVE FILES in your hardisk, and if you want to install you just have to disable it?

I want to know, if you're in my situation and your pc is not connected to the internet, what will you do to protect it, and at the same time, you can easily use it (Save files, install new software)

1. If you don't have an internet connection, then what viruses do you have to worry about? No viruses should affect the computer aside from ones the user loads. Why not use the other computers as guinea pigs? And yes, most windows updates could be downloaded as individual exe files and then loaded to the computer.

And you know, a good majority of updates are security updates. If it's not online, it the computer should be quite safe...

2. Aside from deepfreeze, I don't really know of anything else. I've used the program before and it is really nice. I had it on my video editing computer so the C: (program drive) was "frozen" and the D: (video/data drive) was "thawed" The computer was consistent every time I booted, but I still had my data.

1. you can always download for antivirus updates on the other pc(connected) and load it to your computer(not connected).

before you open your flash disk scan first.

Yeah I download my stuff from school and pop it onto a flash drive because I have dial up and it takes ages >.>

Install Free Avira
On the Avira toolbar (with Avira open) select "Update" > Manual Update > Browse to the new update file (this can even be on a USB Drive)

No

Yes and No
You will have the latest updates
But auto (live Internet) updates may also download program updates every month or so. Note the program updates are not as important as the definition updates
