how to record sound from movie

I recorded a movie with a movie camera and want to extract the sound from the kids at a graduation party. How can i record the sound only. I remember a program that did this. Can not think of the name of it. Play the movie then captures the sound only. want to email to family.

You can set audacity up to do it, but the easiest way I have found to seperate audio from video is to use any audio converter or format factory.

I use them to seperate sound only from youtube downloads works perfectly.
 
To use any audio converter, just select the audio output you want like mp3, direct it to your video file and as it only works with audio the end file that comes out is just your audio mp3.
