How to reinstall operating system..!

Hello ,I need help friends, I was having Problems Running Certain Command's in Dos under windows Xp. How can I re-install M-S Dos files onto my computer without Re-installing The entire OS, In This case windowsXP OS. and will this fix the unreadable output i think caused by a Virus.please give your suggestions.
