Hey I have an AMD 6900 videocard and its pretty clogged full of dust and I was wondering how I can take the plastic cover off because it's full of dust and compressed air won't solve this problem. I'm looking at the card and don't see a way of taking the cover off of it. The screws that seem to hold the cover onto the card are inaccessible.

which involves taking the plastic cover off first...

No, the four screws will remove the whole heat sink. From there use a can of compressed air to blow out the dust from the bottom (PCB side) of the cooler. Use isopropyl alcohol to clean the GPU and heatsink and replace new thermal past. Replace cooler and screws and power connector.

Doesn't the plastic cover come out with the heatsink? Aren't there plastic clips on the bottom that you just release to pull cover off?

I initially looekd for some sort of quick release system after realizing there were no screws but didn't notice anything that seems like it would work.

well clearly based on the fact that i was asking it means i didnt know it worked that way, and you could have just explained that it worked that way in your first post. rather than just telling me what to do instead of explaining how it works. i clearly didnt know that the heatsink was part of the shroud.
