how to remove text from a picture

I don't mean to remove text in a plain blackground. That is extremely simple by a few clicks, and then select the text and delete it, fill the area with the bg color, it's done perfectly.

I mean the text where it lies on the more complicated background, like the face of someone, a picture of the garden. I am not looking for perfect solution and I know there is no perfect solution in that case, but I would if there is any technique to remove the text in that case, while preserving the images as closely to the original one as possible. Again, I know there is no perfect solution because something has already lost after adding text to it.

You're talking about removing a watermark...?

Everything I've tried to remove watermarks has just make the picture worse. I'd try to find the original if possible.

Really all you could do is use Gimp or Photoshop and cut out each letter and then fill in the space with something that works...? I mean for a face or something that doesn't work really but you could potentially pull it off depending on the picture.

Finding the original is your best bet. You can use drag and drop images into the Google search bar and it will reverse image search it for you. Might help you find the original.
