I don't own anything of theirs, nor is our internet anything to do with them. I have a Buffalo AirStation Wireless USB Adaptor...

I set this to Hide and thought that it wouldn't install it, but it appears in my Update History...

But I look in the Un-Install Update area and it isn't there!?

I discovered that it was the cause of my internet problems (really slow speeds) and couldn't un-install it, so I went back to a restore point without it, and set it to hide, and it hasn't been installed (at least to my knowledge) as my internet has been running perfectly. But every now and again it'll just go dead, well, really slow, my Dad's is fine though...

Any ideas on how I can see if it's actually installed, or how I can un-install it?

Thanks!

To see what updates are on go into the Control Panel>Programs + Features and click on the installed updates link there.

If not seen there but in the review update history at the MS update site that shows that it was installed at one point. The other first place to look is under network adapters in the device manager to what is listed there as well as the folders in the "C:\Program Files\" directory.

Hmmm, I guess it isn't a Windows Update, It's the drivers for my USB Adaptor, For some reason, they make the drivers for my adaptor...

I guess it isn't them that's causing the problem...

Thanks for the reply, PC_Eye :)

It sounded just like you were seeing something like that without any software installation for that brand of adapter being present. You'll find that often one company makes the chip or entire device to be later sold under a different brand name.

The properties>driver>driver details tab on anything found in the DM with the Buffalo name on it will generall show who released the drivers used. The screen shot there however can also be used to see if everything is on for Vista's SP1 now out there. When going for that if you did it probably saw the latest version put on along with the MS updates themselves. Here the volume control panel for the Xtreme Gamer was reset to the defaults and placed back in Gamer mode while I generally keep that in the Entertainment mode instead.
