My pc has been attacked by virus. & the virus damaged my primary partition's MFT.

So, now I need to repair or restore the MFT. Does anyone has recommendation of good software of doing so?

I've tried chkdsk /f. It doesn't work. It close immediately after I run it for that partition.

Plz note that I accidentally formatted that partition for 1 - 2 secs, using Windows XP installation setup, but immediately ended after that. Would that be the cause of failure of chkdsk?

Note that partition is currently recognised as RAW NTFS, if I'm not mistaken. Detected by Acronis Disk Director as 'FS: None partition: 0x7 (NTFS, HPFS).

Besides, plz recommend any powerful file restoration software too, if u know any. Normal software won't do, as my MFT has been damaged & detection of files most probably have to be done in RAW NTFS.

I've tried FileScavenger to restore the files inside. But before I start to recover, an error msg appears: 'Beginning of block is not multiple of 4K.' Does anyone know wat this means?

I've contacted the customer support, & they said that my data is compressed in group of 64 clusters, while typical pc's data is compressed in group of 16 clusters. Does anyone know wat this means as well?

Plz help me. Any help will be appreciated. Thx. ^^

^^" Wat's so funny? Anyway, has tested wif Testdisk. Looks like my MFT & MFT backup both spoilt. Is it still possible to repair?

I think even it can, the chance is very slim. So, anyone has any recommendation for software to recover files?
