If your computer hangs up reading a disc, scratched or not, that sounds like a more serious problem...

You can try one of those scratch remover tools.
Ive had sucess with them. Ive probably had no sucess just a much (or more often) though.
But its worth a try.

Or you can try tooth paste. Just buff it onto the cd like you would car wax on a car, let it dry for a minute, then buff it off.
I'm 100% serious.

i think there is a way out not by any hardware experiments.
How about using command prompt, there are commands like COPY , but i dont know all the commands to do this operation.
Did any one tried it?
please send me the commands.
Thanks

The only command in DOS you ever need is "help"

But DOS isn't magical, try fixing the cd, I doubt the command prompt will help you.

When I wasnt careful with cds and they became scratched bad enough to cause skips I used Armor All on them. Apply it then buff it off. It might take a few applications but it usually works. I stumbled upon this by wiping off a cd with a cloth that was saturated in armor all shortly after washing my car, then noticed the absense of skippage :D
