How to scan a file before you download it.

Hey is there a way I can scan a file that I am unsure about for viruses before I download? is there like a free online site that does it?
 
there are online scanner such as THIS but in your case you want to know if the file is cleaned or not.
Most sites assumes the file is clean but then again you have to download and scan it yourself
 
Just download the file and then right click on it and it should give you the option to scan it with your antivirus and some spyware/trojan programs like A-squared.
 
But sometimes, on every AV cept Avast! and Nod32, it is too late when you download it.
Nod32 can terminate the process before the infected file hides itself into Temp. folder or somewhere else.
Avast! stops it immediately since it has online scanner.
