How to share internet using usb cellphone modem Alltel

I just set up a network between my Vista & XP computers using an ethernet cable. Computers are about 5 feet apart. I am now able to share files. How do I share internet connection? I can't figure that part out. I use my Alltel cell phone, Samsung Hue, as a modem that is connected through the USB port with the program Axcess Mobilelink. When I bought ethernet cable from Staples, salesman said I could not use it for the internet sharing, but a fellow customer overheard us & said that I could. He has done the same exact setup at his home (after being told it could not be done). Can someone please help? I want to use my Vista as the main.

im not sure if this will work with a cell phone but have you tried bridging the modem connection and the ethernet connection.

Or tried enabling ICS

Thanks, I did an internet search on how to enable ICS. Works perfectly now. Thank you so much. Hubby & I are much happier now. Now if I can only figure out the printer. Canon Pixma IP3000 with USB. Won't share!

I use printer on both computers. I just have to switch USB back & forth. After setting up the network connection I tried sharing, but it won't work. At first it will say it has to install correct drivers (I don't know why, since it is already on both computers), then it will say it can't find a certain file to install it. When I try using printer on opposite comp it says it is offline.

When it asks for you to install the drivers it could be talking about one of two things.

1) It needs special drivers to work over the network
or
2) You just need to point the to where the drivers are already installed.
