How To Swap?

Hello.

I just wanted to ask if any special tools are needed to perform a motherboard swap, or if it's simply a matter of hooking and unhooking wires?

Also, do you install operating systems on motherbards or is it only the drivers and whatever else is in the CD that comes with the motherboard?

By the way, is it the motherboard that makes the usual click sounds when you turn on the computer? If so, what exactly is this clicking function? And do the clicks always have to go off at the same speed on every boot up? Or in other words, does a change in the speed at which the clicks are emitted indicate abnormality?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Well keeping yourself static free is a must. The motherboard is screwed in and resting on top of several other spacers which keep the motherboard from touching the case. The motherboard should just start right up once you have everything properly attached to it, than again ive never swapped a motherboard out for another one and then re-attached the same hard-drive as before. That sound you hear is the post beep. It should have one that comes with it at least all motherboards Ive bought in the past few years come with one. You probably will have to install some things with the motherboard cd but it shouldn't be a problem and if more problems arise perhaps try calling the manufacture.
