How to tell your Processor Core

Hey, I have an HP AMD Athlon 3700..and in my sig it says San Diego but really I have no clue because my brother told me it was probably San Diego core...now i really dont't know what core is or what difference it makes but just for the sake of having an honest signature...how do you find out what core your processor is? its an HP a1310n and Athlon 3700+ jus tlike mentioned above

One quick way for sure is to look over the information on the San Diego cored cpu you have there by going to a vendor like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103539&CMP=KNC-overturesmx&ATT=product or go into the Device Manager in System found in the Control Panel or by right clicking on the MyComputer icon and selecting the hardware devices tab. Scroll down to the "processors" list and open the "+" sign to right click on the cpu shown there. The properties screen will often list the core it has. The alternative to simplify things is to download a system information utility like cpuid found at http://www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php

Nowadays a vendor will have the details right there for any hardware like a cpu with a tab for specifications. Keep the other link to grab the cpu tool there for future reference on just about any system. That way you don't end up being a little... (slight pun :P )

May I ask what pun means? I guess this means I am pun. ha ha
Edit: pun (play on words????)
