Is there a way to tell what motherboard is in your computer without opening it up? If so how? Then how can I tell how much and what upgrades I can do to it.

Unfortunately mate no you can't you will have to open it up and then get the serial number on the motherboard and the make, then go on the make's website and look for the mobo with the serial number.

Thats how it can be done.
Hope this helps.

Uh.... registry dumps can do so as well ... also programs like CPUz/Everest/PCWizard etc ... in the case that you have an OEM, if you dig deep enough you can find info from the maker :)
