How to test for faults

Had a computer die on me after 3 days, and unsure to which has failed, power supply or mainboard.

Nothing turns on, not even the little green led on the MB, no fans work or anything. Its as if I cant turn it on.

Any way to test the power supply? Its an atx one with the extra 4pin connector. My other power supply doesnt have this, so I cant put that on.
Other than buy a new power supply anyway to check?

unfortunatly, I dont live in the US, nor do I have time to order one.
I do have a multi tester for voltages, but on testing the 20 pin plug with the power supply plugged in, I cant get any readings, but wondered if it needs to be plugged in and one of the pins to be connected to turn the power on. Should the fan come on if non of the plugs are plugged in? or does it have to be switched by one of the pins

Well naturally you'd have to turn it on ... unless you just wanna test continuity

If there is a fan then it should turn on.
