I have a Maxtor 200GB hard drive. It was recently divided into 5 or 6 partitions. Today i wanted to delete them all except for 2 of them, but when i use the windows xp boot cd and i had deleted all the partitions, there wasnt an "unpartitioned" space, there were 4 "unpartitioned" spaces, here is an example of what it said:

Unpartitioned Space: 51100MB
Unpartitioned Space: 20100MB
Partition D[My Documents]: 5250MB
Unpartitioned Space: 400010MB
Partition H[Network Drive]: 75300MB

I am unable to join the partitions together to make 1 large partition using the windows xp boot cd. I am only able to install windows on one of the "unpartitioned Space". Do any of you know how i can join the partitions together and be able to install windows on a apx.110000MB partition?

There sure are :). you can use 3'rd party software like Partition magic or do withing the windows enviroment also by using the windows "disk management"

Edit:

Goto start, control panel, click on "Adminstrative Tools" (In classic view). Click on computer managment, click on disk managment and you'll see the disks on your computer. you then can left click on the partitions to see the options available. I've removed partitions this way myself.
