How to visually distinguish between a cross and straight cable

My query is how to visually distinguish between a cross and a straight cable. It is a fact that cross cables are used to connect similar networks like PC-PC and straight cables are used to connect dis-similar networks.

I hope, my quesion is clear. Please help me in the query.

Easiest way, since not all wires follow the color standards, just look at the ends. If the wires are the same on both ends, it's straight through. If wires are in different orders, it's crossover.

Otherwise... Wo O WG B Wb G Bbr Br -> Wg G Wo B Wb O Wbr Br
(White Orange, Orange, White Green Blue...)
