How to work an external Email

Alright, i am trying to use Evolution Mail. I have a email account at yahoo. I have never done this before so i am going to need some help:P . Alright first, it asks for server type, than the server, then it again asks for server type. If you could help that would be great. Thanks
 
Here are the server settings for Yahoo mail

Server Settings
Incoming Mail Server (POP3): pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
using SMTP port 587

Account Name/Username: Your Yahoo! User Name
Email address: Your Yahoo! Email Address
Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password

alright, when i press send/receive mail it says: Error while Fetching Mail.

Unable to connect to POP server pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk.
Error sending password: Operation now in progress
 
sounds to me that you have put your password into your email client incorrectly.

To be honest i always find it easier to just delete the profile that is being a pain in the ass and start again as sometimes its just a matter of a single letter being out of place and I get cross eyed looking at box after box of server addresses etc.

Just delete the profile and start again should work...

Let me know how you go
 
Yahoo doesn't support POP3 as far as i know....and if it does which maybe im wrong....the extesions migh be .com if your in the usa...

ow to Configure Outlook with an MSN POP3 Account
Use the following steps to configure Outlook 2002 with an MSN POP3 account:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Mail icon.
3. Click E-mail Accounts.
4. Click to select Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
5. Click to select POP3, and then click Next.
6. Type the following setting information:
a. In the Your Name box: type you name as you want it to appear to recipients.
b. In the Incoming Mail Server (POP3) box: type pop3.email.msn.com.
c. In the E-mail Address box: type your e-mail address, for example, "[email protected]".
d. In the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) box: type smtp.email.msn.com.
e. In the User Name box, type your MSN account name.
f. Click to check the Remember Password checkbox.
g. In the Password box, type your MSN password.
h. Click to check the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) checkbox.
7. Click More Settings.
8. On the Outgoing Server tab, click to select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication box.
9. Click to select Use same settings as my incoming mail server, and then click OK.

• In the Remember password box: click to select if you want to have your password saved.
• Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): do not click to select this check box.
7. Click More Settings.
8. Configure the Connection tab, as needed.
9. Click OK.
10. Click Next, and then click Finish.

The steps will be similar with all programs like thunderbird endura and so on.



Also i think that HOTMAIL accounts will NOT work.

I have gmail and over a hundred invites

anyone who wants on just leave me a message

gmail is POP3 and also if you use Firefox or Opera u have have it logged in the whole time your browser is open so you can get mail without having to go to google.com and mess around
