how do i go about setting up my 3-1 printer up to my computer?

Its all hooked up, what im wanting to do is be able to fax through my computer.

well i now how to fax but i was wondering how to do it through our computer. We have the usb port plugged into the computer do we just use the windows fax to send a fax from the computer or what?

Most windows operating systems have the fax capability built into them. However, you may or may not have the option to fax through the printer/fax, usually only through the dialup fax modem. However, if the printer is a decent model it should come with software that you can use to fax from within windows.

Your Printer has a Fax Modem built in, so hook the phone line up to it, and you can fax.

If your Computer has a built in Fax modem hook the Phone line up to it, then scan your document and run the Windows Fax software.

If you don't have a Built in Fax Modem, you can Buy a USB Fax Modem, but it also requires hooking the Phone Line to the USB Modem. Then you scan your document and send it through the usb modem.
