How well would this comp run...

did some research on running adobe cs and stuff for a friend of mine. The 3 main things you need to worry about are: cpu, memory and hard disk. Which all 3 need to be faster than you've got now.
i'd recommend at least a dual core 3ghz or a quad core 2.6ghz. With preferably a raptor or other 10k rpm hard disk. Memory needs to be at least 4gigs with the option to upgrade to 8gigs along the road. For a graphics card, for now you can go with an integrated one. cs5 is the first edition that really starts to support graphics cards. Cs3 has very limited support on just a couple of video cards and cs4 supports a couple of more features but still supports only a couple of video cards.

Thank you for your reply Viper...

Would you be able to recomend an alternate desktop that I would be able to upgrade along the way? (I have never built my own from scratch... only upgraded vid cards, hdds etc...)

Actually that's really good for the price. That processor runs almost as fast as mine. My friend has it. It will run 2 games at a time without maxing out. It should run those programs pretty easily. I run photoshop with 2 gigs of ram.

It doesn't take a supercomputer to run photoshop unless you are working with enormous images. 2-3 GBs of RAM is more than enough for most things people do on it. I would say go for 4GB-8GB if you are going to be editing digital camera RAWs. So that computer would be a great starter and when you get more advanced with Photoshop, you can upgrade it.

That's what I thought at first, but was not sure... do you see anything I should upgrade on there first... well besides the psu?

I apologize for the delay. Well the rig has plenty of RAM for most things but I've noticed that Adobe is pushing for more rendering/processing done by the graphics card. The HD 3200 in that is pretty low-end so I would recommend that being your first upgrade, it doesn't have to be immediate but it would help in the long run. Adobe CS4 has a new hardware rendered interface so a midrange card would help there, I wouldn't spend any more than $60 on a card though, it isn't extremely important. The Phenom is fine as well, I wouldn't worry about if for a little while.
