This may seem unreasonable to some, but, right now I cannot order a new HDD for at least 2 1/2 weeks.
I have a PC with ATA and SATA ports, I currently have Windows Vista Home Basic on my SATA2 HDD.. a HDD in which I would remove for the time being, this is what I want to do, if I'm able;
I have a 40GB IDE HDD which has 3 partitions on it, 1x XP Home (must keep!), 1x Ubuntu ( want to get rid of soon ) and 1x Vista Ultimate (setup using a diff. board).. I want to put this HDD in my current PC, stick the Anytime Upgrade disc in and install Ultimate to the partition it's currently installed to, but only because the current install is for another board and I get a BSOD when I try to use it on this board.
So, can it be done with messing with my current install of XP Home on the other partition?
If so, would the best way to do it be to remove my current HDD, install the IDE drive and reboot the PC with the disc in the bay? If so, how do I setup a DVD drive and HDD on the same IDE cable?
