I am using this pc mainly for designing purposes with photoshop, etc but also I will be using it for watching tv, playing some games (not huge pc gamer), lisitning to music.

1. Ditch the SLI board ... no need to get a hardcore gaming board if you're not gonna be doing hardcore gaming
2. Ditch the ASUS board. You can do much better with say a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 1MB 90nm Rev. E San D
I would strongly urge you consider the AMD Athlon64 X2 series

Memory: DDR (400) 3200 - 1 GB (2 pcs 512) Corsair
Do you know the specifics on this RAM?

CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/: DVD±RW - Lite-On SOHW-1693S 16x8x16x-DVD
Decent drive but behind in the times. Something like a Pioneer 109/110 or NEC 3520/3540 will give you much more flexibility

Video Card: eVGA 6800 GT 256MB DDR3/PCI-E/TV-Out/Dual
Yer not a huge gamer?

Thanks... Ok I believe I will switch to the NEC drive. I want the 6800 GT because the differene in the card will be seen in watching movies and tv and the occasional games I play.

What about PSU? YOu dont think I should get SLI ready incase I want in the future?

there is a big difference if you do audio/video creating or editing, and in games. But if you just do photoshop, listen to music, and play some of the older games, then the Live! will suit you fine, although if you have a nice speaker setup, and will do a good amount of gaming (newer games), then i would go with the ausigy 2zs.

Ok well I play CAll of duty, most likely will get call of duty 2. I also play battlefield 2 and will get half life free from monarch.

SO would you recommend Audigy 2z for those games? What about for watching movies and tv?

Is the audigy 2z fine or would the platinum or gamer be that much better?

I think you should do as Preator said... and get the AMD X2 series CPUs, thats a great great investment. I would recommend no more than the 4400, because difference in performance isnt that big, but the price will be... Also I would suggest you do ditch the SLI, and get a decent motherboard with the new 7800, nothing can out do that card... (Unless your double monitored running WoW and GuildWars at once..)
