I was talking with a friend of mine who's looking to buy a gaming computer from somewhere, but he isn't exactly computer savvy. I'm probably not either, but a little more than him I'd hope. Anywho, we were in the store and I was looking at a computer magazine when I ran across something that may be what he's looking for from ibuypower.com. So, I went to the site to check it out, and came up with this setup:
Case - Tuniq Symmetry Gaming Tower Case w/420W Power Supply Black
Power Supply - Standard Case Power Supply
Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6300 (2x 1.86GHz/2MB L2 Cache/1066FSB)
Processor Cooling - iBUYPOWER Liquid CPU Cooling Fan System Kit
Motherboard - ECS 965T-A P965 Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, USB 2.0 PCI-E MB
Memory - 1024MB [512MB X2] DDR2-800 PC6400 Memory Module Corsair-Value or Major Brand
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce 7600GS 512MB w/DVI + TV Out Video
Hard Drive - 250 GB HARD DRIVE [Serial-ATA-II, 3Gb, 7200 RPM, 8M Cache]
CD/DVD Drive ( 16x DVD-ROM Drive Black )
CD-RW/DVD-RW Drive - 18X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive Black
Network Card - Onboard LAN Network (Gb or 10/100)
Operation System - MS Windows XP Home Edition w/ Service Pack 2
Power Protection - Opti-UPS SS1200-AVR Mighty Voltage Regulator
Wireless Network Adapter - Wireless 802.11g 54Mbps PCI Adapter
It mentioned a few other components to the computer, but these seemed like the most relavent parts to what are really needed, at least I think so. It's barely over $1000 which made him happy since he's on a fairly tight budget, and its actually got me a little interested myself, so I'd like to hear what you guys think of a setup like this.
