Looks good, very smart move only buying 1 7900gtx. I personally would drop the 150GB raptor drive, its very nice but i dont think worth the money.

What you should do is buy a 250GB 7200rpm, then if you really need it get 1 34GB 10krpm for you game files or whatever it might be used for.

looks nice... and about the harddrive it is really a matter of opinion, if u want speed or space... when it gets over 120gb that is all i need, so IMO i would go for speed...

I guess if he really wants to spend the money he can, but ive used raptor drives and i really dont think they are worth it.

the raptor are so overrated, where do you think that "speed" increase will be noticed? in gaming... no, in booting... no!

Actually thats one of the areas where the extra 3K RPM's comes in. It also helps for transfering large files.

But they are over rated...

I would mabye get dvd cd rw combo drive myself.
A DVD Burner would be better.

is there a difference between the 7800gtx and the 7900gtx?
Would I be able to fit 2 harddrives?
I believe I do have a dvd cd rw combo drive.
Will a 500w psu be enough power?
Is there anything else im missing in order to build a comp?

1. The 7900gtx has higher clock speeds, and i think but im really not sure but i think it has more pipelines

2. Yea its very easy to install 2 hard drives

3. It should say dvd +/- rw

4. The wattage doesnt really matter, does it have dual +12v rails, and how many amps on each rail?

5. I think your covered.

That PSU is fine. But if you ever go SLI with two 7900s I would get something with even more power in it.

Personaly I would also get a DFI SLI-DR, same price and its a better overclocker.

The 7900GTX doesnt have more pipes than the 7800GTX. Its just a 90 nm "enhanced" G70 core named G71 and with higher clock speeds.

what can I do to improve upon this build?
Not much, it all looks good to me! Well, the only 2 things I would change is the HD because 150GB will eventually become kinda small if you plan to keep this computer in the long run, and a more powerful PSU when you change GFX cards(which may be a long time in your case!), so you will have enough power to run it properly.

For the see-through drive, you need a case for it specially. The cases are completly clear, and the HDDs are mounted sideways. Pointless, no way worth the extra.

Also, you would be better off with two 250GB SATA2 16Mb cache hdds in RAID, it would probably be as fast.

And how much is all of it costing?

I believe the full total (with warranty from newegg included) is around $2550. I thought it would be more but its a pretty good price.
