Hp c4650

This printer is not acting right.
Last week I tried to scan something and it just stayed on scanning till I turned it off.
I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall it and it just won't work.
It says "color copying" now and I didn't mash anything for it to do that, it just did on it's own.

I can't really say what else is going on, but it just goes from one mode to another all the time.

It'll say put a photo in and hit scan all on it's own and if I hit scan it just stays on scan and if I hit back, that's what I did and it says copying.

Just tried to print a page and it's not doing it because it's in another mode now.

Any idea on what's going on?

Unplug the printer for 10 minutes and then plug it back in and see it still reacts that way. If so, then you need a new printer.

I'll try that. It will print, but right after that it goes haywire and beeping as it goes from one mode to another.
Got it unplugged.

OK, I plugged it back in and it said load paper and press OK to print alignment page, so I did, then it turned off and and came back on and said same thing.
I pressed OK and then it said it was printing alignment page but never did, now it says to insert memory card.?? There is one in it.

I just put something in it to scan, hit scan and it just says scanning................, but it ain't doing nothing.

New Printer??

My coffee pot was blinking this morning.

But I notice last week when I tried to scan something it just kept saying "scanning", like it is right now, I just put something it and trying to scan it to the memory card.

Got it running thru a surge protector.

ERROR wStub 66494 just popped up, if that helps. And says fatal error during installation.

There is something wrong with the printer if you have unplugged it and its not reacting correctly after it boots back up. I was at a clients house a few weeks ago and they had an hp printer and it kept rebooting itself, they called HP and they said there was something wrong with the computer, the computer had nothing to do with it. I unplugged it, waited and plugged it back in and it was still rebooting itself. I recommended them getting a lexmark printer, if they did or not, I don't know.

I tried to uninstall it and it won't let me, keep getting these errors.
When I go to uninstall, it says uninstall all or choose, if I go with "Choose", there is nothing in there.

I got a guy to look at it and he got one page to print. It messed up again and I asked him to help me again and he say "No, I got it to print a page". So therefore, it must not be the printer.

If I do get a new one I'll smash it so he won't get it out of the trash can.

Unplug the printer from your computer and try making a copy or scan something using the buttons on the printer itself. First unplug the printer again for a few minutes. With the printer disconnected from the computer and it still doesn't work correctly then the printer is bad, has nothing to do with the computer. Then system restore won't do anything to help.

If you had a power surge or outage it is a definite possibility that it damaged the circuitry of the printer and would send it in to the fits that you are currently dealing with. Only course of action at this point is to replace it.
