HP desktop getting BSOD

Afternoon,

Looking to see if I can get some assistance here.

From what my cousin tells me the computer was working fine from one day to the next and then one morning she turned it on and got the BSOD.

I myself haven't been able to boot into the desktop using safe mode, doing a system restore or using last know good configuration. I have tried the tools available to help recover this, but I haven't had no luck.

I am getting a code c000021a (fatal system error)

I was hoping to use bluescreenview to help determine what is causing this, but no luck.

I have no disc available to boot off to continue using.

If I can get some help here I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

What operating system? Assuming it is Windows 7, you can download and burn any of these ISOs to use as a recovery disk.

Windows 7 Home Premium x86 English

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 English

Windows 7 Professional x86 English

Windows 7 Professional x64 English

Once downloaded and burnt to DVD / USB, boot from it and go to recovery options.

Open COMMAND prompt and type (with spaces)- sfc /scannow

Once completed run a check disk by typing : chkdsk C: /X

Let it finish (do not stop it part-way through).

Restart.

I have a windows 7 ult disk here and tossed it in. booted from dvd and then the installation section came out. I clicked on repair and then got that message.

Was there any hardware or software installed prior to this happening? You will need to either find or create a Vista install dvd and use the recovery options to do a system restore back to a day it was working fie.

I asked my cousin and she said no John. When I tried a system restore on it I believe it was disabled? No restore points are available.

How did you know there were no restore points if you can't even get to system restore? If there is no restore points it looks like you are stuck at reinstalling the OS. There should be a recovery partition, can you access it? Press F10 or F11 at startup I think. If there is no way to reinstall, I have both ISO's of 32 and 64 bit and can dropbox you them and you can create an installation dvd. Would just need to use the key on the side of the case to activate.

I went into system recovery, clicked advance options and selected microsoft system restore. When done I continue and it states no restore points have been crated on your computer system disk.

Ok. It was just confusing when between your posts. See if you access the recovery partition to reinstall windows. But it might not hurt to do a diagnostic on the hard drive to make sure its running ok first.

I came across a problem. I connected the drive to my computer so that I may backup files. The drive does appear, but when I click folder to view what I need to backup. I get denied. Been looking in properties, security to get access, but could use help here, please.

Thank you
