HP DV 4000 wireless help!

I have a HP DV4000 and the wireless won't turn on. The wirless device is installed and is seen in Device manger and says it is working. When i click on the wireless down by the clock, it says it needs to be turned on, but when i press the button on the panel, it won't turn on. I even tried another panel and same thing. It has to be between the panel button and the wireless card. Is there away to bypass this and turn it on or what. Any help on this would be great. Thanks
 
it's possible that there is another wireless utility running the wireless and has it disabled. I'm not sure what program HP uses to control the wireless software, I would disable it and use windows wireless configuration to run the wireless.
