Well I've had a DV1000 before and it was a great little unit. Awesome features, too. The only downside to it was that it suffered the same light leakage as the Toshiba 14" glossies, and it also got insanely hot underneath. If they fixed those 2 problems, I think that would be probably one of the best notebooks ever made.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully they got all of that fixed. I have read several reviews of the DV1000t, and the one said the BrightView display was among the best they had tested, so I am guessing that issue is fixed. The other said that the 2.0GHz Core Duo ran fairly cool during the tests they ran on it. It also mentioned that its bench mark tests were among the fastest notebooks they have tested, so hopefully this thing will be fast. Again thanks for the fast reply.

Yes, please keep up posted when you get it. I like how they crammed in the webcam in the new series. I believe the heat generated underneath was from the HD. SATA should run a bit cooler on the new one. Congrats on the new system. :D

Thanks alot! I cant wait to get it, and I will make sure and update you guys on how it handles everything. I currently have Dell 600m, and have not had very good luck with it. I have had motherboards, memory, hard drives, processors, touchpads, keyboards, modem etc replaced in it, and they still tell me its not a lemon:confused: figure that one out lol. Oh well, I stayed away from Dell this time, because of some trouble I had with them fixing a couple of the problems. Oh well, thats all in the past, and hopefully this one will be trouble free. I know a number of people that have HP's and have had no problems with them at all. March 2nd is the shipping date so I should have it next weeks sometime. Thanks again
