I need to download a driver for my hp dvd 604 b here is the error code I get I am at a loss
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
any help appreciated I am not a computer geek :(

I can't find the model you mentioned, I'm guessing the HP 604b is the PC model. Did this suddenly occur? The driver for a dvd writer is normally part of Windows. Did you try rebooting?

Simplest way to reinstall the driver if that is the problem:
Go to Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager / DVD CD ROM Drives / Right Click on problem drive / "Uninstall". Then reboot. PC should reinstall the driver.
