HP DVD840 External drive HELP!!!

Hey everyone. New to this forum. I am a 43 year old woman so be gentle....haha. I bought an HP external DVD burner and it worked fine for a week while using DVDFAB Decrypter to rip DVDs to my hard drive and then using InterDVD to burn it. It came with Nero 6 but as far as I can see there is no way to rip to the hard drive using it. My problem is that suddenly the programs stopped recognizing that the drive has a disc in it. I called HP and they had me burn files off of my computer to the drive and of course that worked. When I double click on the drive in my computer (it is drive F) it says please insert a disc. When I use the other programs such as DVDFAB the following error comes up.

well first of all, use dvd decryptor to rip the dvd to your hard disk, its the fastest and most reliable. You can download it below.

Then use Nero to burn the image from the disk after. Are you trying to make a backup of a dvd? If you are then use a piece of software called dvd shrink.
