HP Envy vs. iMac for video editing...

Hi! New to the forum...

I'm going to be buying one of these destops in the next week or two but I can't decide which one... I'm going to be using it for editing small films and photos mainly, but also just day to day things like email, youtube, etc....

I've only got about $1,300 to spend...

I like the HP Envy because I can get it completely decked out for about $1,200
(32gb ram, 2 TB hard drive, Core i7 processor, etc...). But i worry about viruses and stuff like that that can effect PC's a lot more than Mac's...

OR, I can go with the basic iMac for about $1,300 but not as decked out as the HP Envy (only Core i5 processor, 8gb memory, 1 TB hard drive, etc).

So which one would you go with? The HP that is a better machine, or the iMac that is more reliable...???

I'd get the iMac because I hate HP's.

I'd go with the iMac as well, especially for your needs. There is some great Mac software out there such as Final Cut, iMovie, etc., plus the display on the iMac will most likely be a better quality and more accurate display.
